The Battle for the Best Margarita Begins! Calling all margarita enthusiasts to attend a Margarita Pour Off Event presented by Bud Light benefiting the Houston Food Bank ( at BBVA Compass Stadium ( on Sunday, September 22nd. 

The Ultimate Sunday Funday event, brought to you by Pepe Zevada’s award-winning, Texas-based tequila brand, Z Tequila, will showcase more than 20 local restaurants and bars mixing up signature margaritas and contest-entry concoctions, all of which are available for sampling by patrons, along with live entertainment from Fal Skye (, a variety of great food, games for kids of all ages, activities and more! 

The event will feature a series of contests showcasing the mixing talents of local restaurant and bar staff as they battle to have their libations awarded Best Margarita, Best Lime-A-Rita and Best Z Tequila cocktails from the panel of celebrity judges. Fans will be able to cast their vote for the Fan Favorite Margarita on-site during the event and one lucky participant will be awarded Best Booth Décor. The event is open to all ages; must be 21 years of age to purchase sampling tickets.

Participating restaurants include: Taquerias Arandas, Lucky’s Pub, Mojeaux’s Louisiana Drinkery and more!

Tickets to the Margarita Pour Off presented by Bud Light are available for $15 in advance and include admission and (10) 2 oz. sampling tickets*. A $50 VIP ticket package is available and includes admission, (10) 2 oz. sampling tickets, parking, private entrance and access to the West Club, snacks and viewing area of the contest & judging area*. $10 advance parking passes are also available online. Prices increase the day-of the event.

Ruckus Sports Announces New Ruckus Races For 2013
The Nation’s Premiere Family-Friendly Obstacle Race to Debut in Houston and Southern Florida Beginning in October

Ruckus Sports,the premiere family obstacle race has announced new Ruckus Race events for 2013 debuting in Houston and Southern Florida. Both events will be held in sports arenas and stadiums, bringing the obstacle running and mud madness Ruckus Race is known for, to a conveniently located, spectator-friendly location.

The Ruckus Obstacle Race Series combines best in class obstacles with a wildly popular Mini Ruckus for kids along with an after party to create the ultimate family adventure. Ruckus events are designed for a wide range of participants ages 2 to 72 with obstacle courses challenging enough for the elite, yet achievable for all. Participants can run together in teams of any size, but everyone is timed individually. All runners will receive a T-Shirt, Race Bib and medal upon conclusion of the event.

The two new Ruckus Races will take place on the following dates:

  • Ruckus Houston– Saturday, October 26 at BBVA Compass Stadium.
  • Ruckus South Florida – Sunday, November 10 at the BB&T Center.

At each location, Ruckus courses are always built with spectators in mind. As a result, nearly the entire course, including the biggest obstacles, is visible to spectators. The high-energy spectator areas also feature an event expo with vendors, free giveaways, food, and drink tents along with music and entertainment.

“Ruckus Races are unlike any other event that you and your families will take part in,” said Liam Brenner, Managing Member, Ruckus Sports LLC. “We pride ourselves on providing an experience where people can push themselves and accomplish their goals no matter the age or ability of the individual.
