About the Houston Dynamo game:

The Houston Dynamo enter the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup as they host the Laredo Heat of the USL Premier Development League in the second game of a doubleheader with the Houston Dash. The Heat was founded in 2004 and is in the U.S. Open Cup fourth round for the first time. It defeated Red Force (USASA), 2-1, in the second round and the Fort Lauderdale Strikers (NASL), 3-2, in the third round set up tonight’s game against the Dynamo.

Tonight is the first-ever competitive meeting between the Dynamo and Laredo Heat. The two Texas clubs have met three times before – a scrimmage in 2009, and friendly matches in 2010 and 2013. Laredo plays within the Southern Conference of the Premier Development League, the fourth tier of the U.S. soccer pyramid. The winner of tonight’s game will host the victor of the June 17 game between FC Dallas and San Antonio Scorpions in the fifth round on June 24 or 25
