Promo Badge for BBVA Compass Stadium

Mar 10, 2014

BBVA Compass Stadium, an AEG Facilities venue, in collaboration with the new Google Maps, has launched a new, online interactive indoor mapping feature  which will  allow patrons easier access to information and directions to the stadium.  The mapping feature is accessible online or through the Google Map app.

Patrons using the new Google Maps will be able to obtain detailed directions to the stadium including identifying the closest entrance gate to utilize along with directions to the exact location of their seats.  The Google Directions Project is a multi-phase mapping process. The first phase provides a detailed layout of the stadium interior complete with locations for restrooms, food vendors and ATM outlets. Subsequent phases will allow enhanced directions from the users’ current location directly to seating sections, the nearest restrooms and food vendors from their seat, and provide Google street views of the concourse and seating levels.

“The Google Map technology will allow patrons to access key information about the stadium immediately from their handheld devices which will create a better customer experience for all our patrons,” said Nathan Buchanan, Security Manager, BBVA Compass Stadium.  “We look forward to rolling out additional phases which will include menu listings for concessions stands as well as enhanced street views for a more expansive visual layout of the property.”

BBVA Compass Stadium is the first stadium in Houston, as well as the first Major League Soccer stadium, to incorporate Google Map technology into the fan experience.

The stadium’s Google Map launched in February in preparation for fans to access prior to the Houston Dynamo opening day against New England Revolution on Saturday, March 8.  Tickets are on sale now online at, or or by calling 888-929-7849.  Tickets are available at the Ticket Office, open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
